The awards presentation began with a minute of silence in memory of Bob Powell, a longtime supporter of the EASS trials, who passed away this week. He will be deeply missed. Our thoughts are with Val and his family during this difficult time.
Following on, Jack made a presentation to Denis Jenkins of his honorary membership. Denis has previously chaired the EASS committee and the committee wanted to honor him for his service to the society. Jack also presented him the Shadwell Salver. The Salver is a new award and will be presented each year at the awards dinner to whomever the chairman feels best meets the criteria Denis chooses.
